Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible
Proxmox-Backup is a private, single-user application. The controller is Harald Osmann, Duisburg, Germany, harald.osmann@gmail.com. The application is operated by the controller for the controller's own Google account only.
2. What the application does
Proxmox-Backup is the OAuth client through which the open-source program rclone, running on the controller's own Proxmox server, accesses the controller's own Google Drive. It is used solely to upload backup files from that server to Google Drive, to list them, to download them for restoration, and to delete old backups.
3. Google user data the application accesses
With the permission granted on the Google consent screen, the application requests the following access:
- Google Drive:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive– to create, read, list, modify and delete the backup files and folders that the controller stores in Google Drive.
The application does not access Gmail, contacts, calendar, photos or any other Google service. It does not read the content of any files for any purpose other than transferring them as part of the backup and restore function described above.
4. How the data is used and stored
- Data is used only to provide the backup function described above, and for no other purpose.
- The OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in the rclone configuration file on the controller's own server, protected by the server's access controls. They are not stored anywhere else.
- File data is transferred directly between the controller's server and Google Drive. The application has no server of its own, no database and no analytics, and no copy of the data is kept by the application.
5. Sharing and disclosure
Google user data is not shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or for developing, improving or training generalised AI or machine-learning models. No human reads the data; transfers are automated and take place only between the controller's server and the controller's Google Drive.
6. Google API Services User Data Policy
The use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Retention and deletion
Backup files remain in Google Drive until the controller deletes them, either manually or through the retention rules of the backup job. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions; the stored tokens can then be deleted by removing the rclone remote from the server's configuration. Deleting the Google Cloud project also ends all access.
8. Your rights
Because only the controller's own data is processed, no personal data of other people is collected. Any person who nevertheless believes that data about them is processed can request information, correction or deletion by e-mail at the address above, and has the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated when the application changes. The current version is always available at this address.
Datenschutzerklärung
1. Verantwortlicher
2. Was die Anwendung macht
